Dan & Demi’s Wedding at Manor Hill House – A Perfect Worcestershire Celebration

I always love photographing weddings at Manor Hill House in Worcestershire. It is one of my recommended venues, and for good reason. Every time I return, the staff are welcoming, the spaces are versatile, and the setting is beautiful in every season. Dan and Demi’s wedding was special for me because it was the first time I photographed a wedding in the stables’ ceremony area. I have shot many weddings at Manor Hill before, but this outdoor set-up with white chairs and a floral arch was stunning. It was such a perfect way for these two to say their vows.

Bridal Preparations at Manor Hill House

The morning started in the bridal suite at Manor Hill, where Demi and her bridesmaids were getting ready. From the moment I walked in, there was nothing but laughter and excitement. Demi’s bridesmaids were the kind of group who made everything fun, and at one point we even ended up with all of them piled into the bath for a photo! a really playful and memorable shot that still makes me smile.

Demi herself looked absolutely incredible in her dress. She had this natural calmness about her in the morning, but you could feel the excitement building as the time got closer. I made sure to capture some quiet moments of her on her own just before she walked down the aisle; those images always end up being some of the most treasured.

Groom Preparations – Dan and the Boys

While Demi was busy downstairs, I joined Dan and his groomsmen outside. They were so chilled, sitting around playing cards and enjoying the relaxed start to the day. It was the perfect reflection of Dan’s personality: calm, grounded, but full of fun.

I also took a few moments to photograph Dan on his own as he adjusted his tie and prepared for the ceremony. Those little pauses often say so much, and it’s always great to balance the relaxed group shots with something a little more personal.

An Outdoor Ceremony at Manor Hill House

The ceremony was set up beautifully outside, with the arch of flowers framing the space perfectly. Just as the ceremony began, the sun broke through the clouds, almost as if it had been waiting for Demi’s entrance. From then on, we were blessed with sunshine for the rest of the day. The registrar, who was from Inverness, brought such warmth to the ceremony. It is not often I meet someone new who immediately puts everyone at ease, but she was fantastic and helped create a really personal atmosphere. The vows were emotional, the rings were exchanged, and then came one of my favourite parts, the confetti shot. Guests lined up outside, and as Dan and Demi walked through, the air was full of colour and smiles.

Drinks, Games, and Speeches

The afternoon at Manor Hill House was full of energy. Guests enjoyed drinks on the grass, played lawn games, and caught up in the sunshine. There was a lovely flow to the day, with everyone mingling and laughing together.

The speeches came earlier in the day, which I thought worked perfectly. Dan spoke beautifully, sharing personal stories, before his dad and best man delivered a joint speech that had everyone laughing. It was such a great way to keep the atmosphere light and celebratory before the evening party.

Couple Portraits Around the Grounds

One of the things I love about Manor Hill House is the grounds and fields at the back. They are a dream for couple portraits, and I always encourage couples to take some time away from the crowd to just enjoy being together. With Demi’s bridesmaid helping out with the veil throw, we created some amazing movement shots. Demi could not stop smiling, and Dan was the same, the two of them just bounced off each other all day long. Later, as the sun began to dip, we headed to the balcony at Manor Hill for the all-important sunset shot. The sunsets here are always magical, and I love making use of that golden light. It’s a moment of calm before the evening celebrations kick in, and the photos are always worth it.

Evening Party with The Wild Ones

The evening kicked off with Dan and Demi’s first dance, performed live by their band The Wild Ones. It had been a while since I had seen live music at Manor Hill, and it made such a difference to the atmosphere. There is something about a live band that gets everyone on the dancefloor, and this night was no exception.

From there, the party was non-stop. Friends and family filled the dancefloor, and everywhere I turned, there were smiles, laughter, and moments worth capturing.

Final Thoughts

Dan and Demi’s wedding at Manor Hill House in Worcestershire was everything you could want from a wedding day, relaxed, joyful, and full of love. From the morning laughter in the bridal suite to the sunset portraits and the party with The Wild Ones, it was a day that will stay with me for a long time.

If you are planning your own wedding at Manor Hill House, I cannot recommend it enough as a venue. The staff are fantastic, the spaces are versatile, and the grounds are a photographer’s dream. And if you are looking for a Worcestershire wedding photographer who works in a creative, unobtrusive documentary style, I would love to hear from you. My approach is all about capturing real moments – no stiff posing, just gentle prompting to keep you relaxed and natural in front of the camera.
